Marvel’s Avengers will be free on PS5 if you purchase it on the PS4
Marvel’s Avengers has had us asking a lot of questions, such as whether it’ll make its way to the PS5 or not. It’s a fair question considering Sony’s new console will be released this year, and we still aren’t 100% sure what backwards compatibility will be like for this new console.
That said, if you’re a fan of everything Marvel, including the upcoming came from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix, you’re in for a real treat. Thanks to a post from the official PlayStation blog, we now know that if you purchase the Marvel’s Avengers game on PS4, you’ll be able to get it – for free – on the PS5. What’s more, you’ll get all the amazing updates that comes with it too.
One of these updates is an enhanced graphics mode for the PS5, as well as a high framerate mode, which targets 60 FPS with dynamic 4K resolution. That’s a pretty transformative update by itself, but there’s even more. Quality of the game will not drop and the world will load seamlessly – what’s not to love about that?
The blog post ended with the following: “We’re happy to announce that when you purchase Marvel’s Avengers for the PS4 platform, either digitally or on disc, and later upgrade to a PS5, you get the PS5 version of the game with all of its enhancements free of charge! In addition, PS5 gamers can play Marvel’s Avengers online with PS4 gamers, so anyone can upgrade at any time and continue playing with friends on both platforms.”
