Hello Video Games, Please Take a Break Now Because I’m Tired
One of the most irritating things I’ve heard lately is that with the ongoing pandemic happening, everyone has a ton of free time and you can learn a new skill and I don’t know, perform ten cooking classes in the space of an hour. However, I write about video games which means that I have to play a lot of them without having a real break.
I don’t hate my job at all, but unfortunately with so many video games coming out, I have to be glued to a lot of them 24/7. Notice how I say a lot, but not all? That’s because my backlog is at least 100 miles long and I don’t have the time to play them all. Granted, sometimes I just want to sit back, relax and play Dragon Age 2 despite having played it 100 times already, but that’s a story for another time.
So video games, let me throw a plea your way: could you take a break for the year and we can come back and start again in January? That’d be great, thanks. After all, I’m certain I still wouldn’t be able to get halfway through my backlog, but boy, would it feel nice to say I had the chance to catch up.
And look, let me be honest with you here, I love events with tons of trailers, and gameplay, and speculation with interviews. Those sort of things just tickle my pickle and whatnot, but just maybe, as a suggestion, that we just calm down and have a little nap for the rest of 2020? It’s just an idea.
Hit me up Geoff Keighley, I’m sure you can make it happen.
Please, I just want to have a nap.
Noooo! I want my video games.
Okay, I suppose my backlog is about as long as yours and I don’t actually *need* a new game. But but but I want.
