Both male and female Eivor are canon in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Back when Assassin’s Creed Odyssey came out, the discussion of who the ‘canon’ protagonist was between Alexios and Kassandra broke out almost immediately. So it’s no real surprise that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Eivor are already getting the same treatment.

Canon is what’s considered the ‘true’ choice, the one that, if picked, is seen as the correct option. It’s a conversation that often calls senseless arguments. But thankfully, according to Ubisoft Montreal’s narrative director, Darby McDevitt, it’s a conversation we won’t be having for this game. Why? Because Assassin’s Creed Vahalla’s female and male Eivor are both considered to be the canon choice.

As VG24/7 so adequately put, this has led to the “putrid boiling of manbaby piss” by a few pitiful gamers, but mostly the reaction has been positive. We’re unsure how they’ll make both Eivor’s canon, but as McDevitt says in their tweet, it looks like we’ll find out how when we play the game.

Speculation on whether we could play a female character appeared almost immediately at the teaser of this new game. Considering how popular Kassandra was during the days of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, it would have been a rookie mistake for Ubisoft to not include both a male and female Eivor for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Thankfully, we don’t have to worry about that at all.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release sometime during the Holidays, 2020.

  • Who cares really? For me my choice is always canon period.. Fights between males vs females are funny, almost like no fighting woman in Spartan army…
    Bye.
