Dungeons and Dragons announce Mythic Odysseys of Theros
Dungeons and Dragons and Magic of the Gathering have teamed up before to add new things to the world of tabletop, such as different races and adventure. But with the reveal of Mythic Odysseys of Theros, a new sourcebook with a campaign, setting and selection of races, this collaboration looks to be a big one.
As described by the official Dungeons and Dragons website, Theros is a place where the “realm [is] shaped by deities and the deeds of heroes. From the temples of omen-speaking oracles to the five realms of the Underworld, the champions of the gods vie for immortal favor and a place among the world’s living myths.”
Theros is a place of wonder, but to really make your mark in this world you’ll need the right equipment. Choose a supernatural gift that’ll set you apart from others, align yourself with one of Theros’ 15 gods and then choose who you want to be. Because carving your own path was never going to be easy.
More features about this sourcebook has been revealed on the official website, such as the different races you can be, as well as subclasses and monsters you may encounter. Here are but a few things mentioned:
- Select one of the new races for your character—such mythic peoples as the leonin or a satyr.
- New subclasses include the Bard’s College of Eloquence, masters of oratory; and the Paladin’s Oath of Heroism, an affirmation of destiny laid out for you by divine providence.
- Encounter mythic monsters, creatures whose power and renown are such that their names are truly living myths. More than simply legendary, these creatures have abilities that will create a challenge fit for the gods.
You’ll be able to get your hands on Mythic Odysseys of Theros on June 2nd, 2020.
