The Gayming Podcast episode 8 has dropped and unlike the previous episode, there’s a whole lot of cursed content in this one. You’ve been warned.
For regular listeners, you’ll have grown used to the dulcet tones of your favourite host, Robin Gray. Sadly, Robin was out of commission due to illness and so Matt Kamen, regular guest and writer for Wired UK, has taken over for this episode. And did a wonderful job at it, too!

In this opening section of our podcast, we talked about what we’ve been playing recently.
Matt talked about playing Tokyo Mirage Sessions, which immediately got cursed thanks to the mention of vagina bones. Don’t worry though, Matt saved the conversation just in time! Mia was also on a JRPG hype, playing Final Fantasy 7 to prepare for the FF7 remake later on this year. As for Aimee, she’s returned to her BioWare-obsessed roots: Dragon Age 2. Why does she keep going back to this game in particular? You’ll have to listen to find out more!

Further into the episode, we talked about what we’ve been reading on Gayming Magazine recently.
Aimee talked about Persona 5 Royal and how it’s being changed in the West to be less homophobic, people’s response to that change and her own thoughts about what the localization means. We also expanded on this topic to talk about Final Fantasy 7 Remake, so yes, extra juicy!
Matt talked about his piece on Not Tonight’s DLC, One Love and how it addressed queer anxiety in a post-Brexit world. Don’t worry though, it isn’t all bleak. There’s even some talk about furries, really. No need to run at the talk of Brexit, right? Right?
Mia spoke about our LGBT Dungeons and Dragon’s piece, and how role-playing games are becoming better at including more queer diversity in its world.
Hot Topic
In this week’s hot topic, we spoke about one of the hottest, raunchiest, downright controversial topic that has been referenced on the podcast many times before. That’s right, we’re talking about The Sonic Movie.
While Aimee hasn’t watched the movie just yet, she has her own opinions on it and whether or not she’ll be seeing it does entirely depend on whether the original Sonic gets added back in. Thankfully, Matt and Mia have less controversial opinions.
But did they like the film? One did and one felt that the movie just didn’t do enough.
