Netflix is the new place to sate your Studio Ghibli thirst

We’ve always been fans of Studio Ghibli here at Gayming Magazine, so you’ll understand when we say that today is the best day – as Netflix is adding 21 Studio Ghibli films to their service where the first set of films will be accessible to watch on February the 1st.

If you’re a fan that’s based in Japan or North America, as Kotaku explains, you’ll not be able to access the Studio Ghibli films through Netflix as Ghibli’s homeland have their own service to access the films, and North America’s HBO Max already has the full catalogue coming in the Spring.

That does mean, however, that if you’re based anywhere else and are able to use Netflix’s service then you’ll be able to watch some of the most well-loved films from a studio that has won the hearts and souls of millions around the globe.

Unfortunately, the full 21 films won’t be available to be viewed right away, but thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we now know when the full roster will be released.

February 1st: Castle in the Sky (1986), My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989), Only Yesterday (1991), Porco Rosso (1992), Ocean Waves (1993), Tales from Earthsea (2006).

March 1st: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), Princess Mononoke (1997), My Neighbors the Yamadas (1999), Spirited Away (2001), The Cat Returns (2002), Arrietty (2010), The Tale of The Princess Kaguya (2013)

April 1st: Pom Poko (1994), Whisper of the Heart (1995), Howl’s Moving Castle (2004), Ponyo (2008), From Up on Poppy Hill (2011), The Wind Rises (2013), When Marnie Was There (2014).

Will you be sitting down to have a movie marathon with Studio Ghibli when all the films are released? We know we certainly will be…
