Gayming Magazine’s best Christmas board games

Games and merriment are what makes Christmas for us here at Gayming Magazine. We’re going to sit down, indulge in far more food than we thought possible, drink until we’re sick and probably wake up regretting almost every moment of it. But hey, at least we had the chance to play some of the best Christmas board games.

Of course, after we’ve recovered from having yet another little bit of the bubbly, we’ll start the whole cycle once again.

But what are the best Christmas board games to play? Thankfully, we’re here to point you in the right direction to help you not only have a tipsy Christmas, but a fun one too!

Disney’s Villainous

Ever wanted to be a villain, or rooted for them during your childhood? Guess what, you’re probably gay now. Hence why you’re here, right?

Anyway, the aim of the game is to first choose which villain you want to be – Team Maleficent for us – and try to out-villain the other people at the table by reaching your objectives. Each villain has a unique objective, so no game will ever be the same.

There are also a fair few expansion packs too if you want to play as villains like Scar and the Wicked Queen. Either way, you’re going to have one hell of a time playing this game.

Don’t Get Got: A Christmas Party Game

Don’t Get Got is one of our favourite card games, and while there’s no real ‘board’ involved, it’s just one of those games that are so good it doesn’t really matter.

The original game of Don’t Get Got is simple: make the players around you do three things that you’re told to do on your cards. If you do that, you’re the winner of the game. Now imagine that, but the things you have to do are Christmasy – it suddenly gets even better!

Monopoly: Christmas Edition

There’s nothing that quite says Christmas like playing a board game that thrives off capitalism. No really, what else do you play at Christmas and why isn’t it this Christmas edition of Monopoly?

It’s exactly like Monopoly, apart from a few changes and excellent Christmas money. If you’re into having some festive fun while possibly breaking up family relations, then this is the game for you!

Pie Face Board Game

Who doesn’t love to get splat in the face every now and then? Well, you’ll have that happening a lot more when your friends and family team up in this simple, but hilarious game.

There’s no real ‘winning’, but you do get a point each time you manage to avoid getting cream to your face. So while simple, this game is at least going to bring out a few laughs this Christmas.

The Awkward Storyteller

Now this game may not be the one you’d expect to see at Christmas time, especially as you may be too drunk to even think of anything at all, but The Awkward Storyteller is incredible for those who likes to tell stories and be silly at the same time.

The aim of the game is one player to play the Storyteller, who reads the first line of the story from the card they picked up. Other players will ask the Storyteller questions from the cards they’ve picked, and from those questions the Storyteller must shape a story.
