Cyberpunk 2077 will offer more complex quests than the Witcher 3
CD Projekt Red have created a world that we can’t help but love in the Witcher 3, offering quests and characters that were memorable and enjoyable. However, it seems that the quests of Cyberpunk 2077 will blow everything the Witcher 3 has originally done, way out of the water.
We know this thanks to a Reddit post by shavod, who attended the yearly Polish community meeting, which had a Q&A with the developers behind Cyberpunk 2077. During the event, the developers answered numerous questions about gameplay, animation, as well as the story.
One thing that stood out to us, however, was how the developers described the difference between the Cyberpunk quests in comparison to the Witcher 3.
To quote shavod directly, “the Witcher 3 quest structure was compared to a single line, with a bunch of branches sticking out of it, which sometimes go back to that single line. In Cyberpunk 2077 those branches grow more branches, which then often tie around each other.”
This ultimately leads to the branches coming back together, but having far more complex routes along the way. Shavod themself theorizes that this could mean that the smallest of decisions could impact other quests, which could then impact on the quest you’re doing. If that is the case, then it seems obvious that not every playthrough will be the same and replayability will be a strong feature of Cyberpunk 2077.
A lot more was discussed during the Q&A, such as how your dialogue options – as well as silence – can change how characters interact with you, as well as how sex scenes in Cyberpunk 2077 were done in mocap. To read more, check out the full thread from shavod here.
