Bomberman inspired PONPU coming to the Switch in Q2 2020
As a big fan of Bomberman, this news certainly got my attention this morning! Argentinian-based developer Purple Tree Studio announced they are bringing Ponpu to the Switch and other platforms in the Q2 of 2020. With Zordix serving as publisher, Ponpu’s creators describe it as, “the king of game where 1 match easily turns into 20!”
Part Bomberman, part manga, Ponpu requires gaymers to throw and deflect bombs in a violent dodge ball-esque game until one man/woman is left standing. The simple yet addicting concept means you can challenge your friends over and over again without playing the same sequence more than once. Could this be the next big party game? We’ll have to wait and see!
“We are super excited to work with Zordix on Ponpu. They’re a perfect match to the game and Zordix is a company that has been growing for years with talented people. Together we will make an amazing, fun and weird game that will hit the hearts of the indie game lovers,” Pablo Purretti, the Co-Founder of Purple Tree Studio tells Gamasutra.
Ponpu was awarded “Best Console Game” and “The Jury’s Honorary Mention” at this year’s Paris Games Week.
It will also be made available for Playstation, XBox and PC later in 2020.
