Our Top 5 MMOs to Play Together

There are a lot of MMOs out there and finding the right one to dedicate yourself to? Near impossible! However, we’ve managed to look through our favourites and shrink it down to our top 5 MMOs to play together.

And the best thing about this list?

Not all of them are on PC, but console and even mobile. Regardless of which platform you use, there’s something here for you and your friends to play together.

Old School Runescape

There’s a lot of things to like about Runescape, but our favourite has to be that it’s accessible not just on the PC, but mobile too. All you need to do is install it, log into the right world with friends, and then you can traipse through a land of magic, crafting and a hell of a lot of quirky side missions to be the adventurer you’ve always wanted to be.

Or you can be like me and craft a fishing rod and fish for the rest of your days while you and your friend role-play being old sailors. No matter what, there’s always a way to make your own fun.

Neverwinter

Neverwinter may not seem like the best MMO out there at first. Some of it looks a little outdated, and getting into worlds with your friends can be a hassle, but it more than makes up for it by including a world where Dungeons and Dragon’s players can explore to their heart’s content.

If you’re a fan of Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights, then this game should be the first on your list to play!

Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy has always been a series that has attracted a passionate fanbase, and Final Fantasy XIV is no exception. It has everything that most MMOs have, guilds/factions, classes, a ginormous amount of half-naked people, etc.

It also has a story that my friends often quote as the ‘best of every Final Fantasy ever’. So, if you and your friends both love Final Fantasy and good stories, we can’t recommend this game enough.

Star Wars The Old Republic

Who doesn’t love a bit of Star Wars in their life? Admittedly, Star Wars: The Old Republic had more than a rough start in life. It was bogged under poor LGBT romance options and story that, while good, could get a little stale depending on your origins.

That said, it’s improved massively and has several expansions that make the Star Wars universe feel a lot bigger than the movies have ever done.

Warframe

Warframe is the kind of game where everyone sat down and asked one another ‘what if we made a game where shooting happens, and you can play with friends, but also the suits are kind of hot?’ Yes, that’s exactly what must have happened when making Warframe.

Jokes aside, it’s a well-populated MMO where players can form together to stop the scourge of evil in space. It may sound familiar, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t hop on in and give it a go yourselves.
