Keanu Reeves romance in Cyberpunk 2077 is impossible
We’re very, very sorry to have to bring the news that no, a Keanu Reeves romance in Cyberpunk 2077 is just not possible. That’s right, you’ll have to keep everything in your pants this time around. Well, as far as Keanu Reeves character, Johnny Silverhand, is concerned.
For those out there that fancied Keanu Reeves since he was in the Matrix: we’re especially sorry to you. You deserved this, but CD Projekt RED decided it was just not to be.
This news comes from the website VGC, where level designer Max Pears told them this: “Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can.”
Unless Pears was mistaken, it looks like this is where the dream of kissing Keanu Reeves ends.
But all is not lost, despite Silverhand not being a romance option, he still has a huge presence. One that apparently rivals that of the protagonist, V.
And if that doesn’t satisfy you, there will always be you, Johnny and a whole lot of fanfiction.
Anyway, the news of Johnny being unromanceable isn’t all that surprising. Disappointing? Yes, but surprising? Not really. Johnny is stuck in V’s head after all, and unless you’re called Stephanie Meyer, you’re probably not into having a romantic relationship with your brain.
If you are, that’s fine. We won’t judge you. Much. But really, keep it to yourself.
Of course, there will be a load of other people you can perform the horizontal tango with. None will be as breathtaking as Mr Reeves, but we’re sure that Cyberpunk 2077 will do their best to make up for that loss.
In other news, Cyberpunk 2077 is throwing the gender binary in the bin, with your gender not being marked upon. Instead, you’ll only be known as V, regardless of which body you pick.
