Ooblets dances onto Steam in October
On Monday, Glumberland announced that its creature collecting, farming sim Ooblets will be available to PC players on Steam starting on October 5. The Steam version will launch alongside the 1.3 update, which includes a Halloween event.
Ooblets casts players as a young adult who is sick of their life on an island and wants to start over on the mainland of Oob. Upon arriving in the city of Badgetown, the player is introduced to Ooblets, little critters that love to dance battle. With a new ooblet friend by your side, you can fix up an abandoned farm, grow crops, make friends, do side quests, find more ooblets, and explore Oob.
The game originally launched in early access on the Epic Games Store back in 2020, before launching in 1.0 on EGS and Nintendo Switch in 2022. Now PC players that use Steam as their primary storefront will be able to get in on all the cute and quirky action this game has to offer.
Since its early access launch, Ooblets has had multiple updates and events that have expanded the world of Oob, including the addition of a world map, hundred of clothes and accessories, several new ooblets, and localization in multiple languages (French, Latin American Spanish, and German). The Ooblets Steam release will include all of this content, plus the v1.3 Halloween event goodies. The Halloween event will be live in the game from October 1 through November, but Glumberland said they may extend it if folks are feeling festive for longer.
Beyond the Halloween content, Glumberland also confirmed that the next big content update, v1.4, will be coming to the game sometime before the end of the year. This update will add vehicles for your ooblets — called oobmobiles — which they can drive around. So whether you’re a lapsed early access player, or a devotee of Oob, there’s plenty in store for the rest of this year.
