Microids announces a Totally Spies video game
Microids, game developer and publisher of well-known games like Syberia and Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo, has announced a deal with Banijay Kids and Family today for a Totally Spies video game.
Totally Spies first aired back in 2001 on November 3 on ABC Family. However, it quickly moved to Cartoon Network, where it gained a plentiful audience and a lot of hype. The series went on to produce 156 episodes across six seasons, and even earned itself a prequel movie back in 2009 before it all came to an end in 2010.
The show was well-loved (particularly in the LGBTQ+ community) and like most things back in the early to mid-2000s, its popularity earned it several different products – novels, comics, and yes, even video games. This upcoming Totally Spies video game isn’t the first at all, and hopefully won’t be the last.
Slated to release in 2024, the newest Totally Spies video game iteration currently doesn’t have a name, but we know that it will offer players the opportunity to step into the shoes of the three legendary secret agents, Sam, Clover, and Alex. Together they must try and save the world from a new enemy, with a host of thrilling missions, offering innovative game mechanics.
“Microids is committed to faithfully and innovatively adapting well-known IP and it is a real honour for us to work on the Totally Spies! license.” Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids says. “Thanks to the skills of our studios and in-house teams, we will do everything we can to offer the community a game that meets its expectations.”
But that’s not all, Totally Spies isn’t just making a comeback in the world of video games, but TV too. Sam, Clover, and Alex will return sometime in 2024, having moved to a new city full of new villains and enemies for them to deal with.
The Totally Spies video game name and more details will be revealed sometime soon.
