Check out Dead Pets Unleashed during Day of the Devs
Tripple Topping, the developers of Welcome to Elk and publisher of Ynglet, have announced their next project: Dead Pets Unleashed. The game is a management-lite, slice-of-life simulator about a group of demons in a band coming in 2023 for consoles and PC.
Grody (they/them) is a demon living in New Void City. They’re now past age 30, which has made trying to balance all the aspects of their life much more difficult. Gordy is the glue that keeps struggling punk rock band Dead Pets together after ten years of searching for their big break without much success. Players follow Gordy as they try to manage their finances, go to band practice, and try to keep the wellbeing of themselves and the band together. Based on the choices you make, Gordy and the band will grow and change in different ways, which you’ll be able to see across the multiple endings of Dead Pets Unleashed.
The game also features a full, punk rock EP that plays throughout, and multiple mini-games including working a shift at a diner, playing a gig with the band, making hot dogs, and cleaning a dildo. New Void City is filled with NPCs with their own separate side stories that Gordy can explore, and was inspired by the colorful and wacky worlds of shows like BoJack Horseman and Tuca and Bertie.
A demo of Dead Pets Unleashed is currently available on Steam, but the second episode of the game is going to be added to it this coming weekend as part of this year’s Day of the Devs celebrations. This is the tenth year of Day of the Devs, where indie developers are given the chance to show off their games ahead of The Game Awards showcases and the new year. Players will be able to check out the second episode of Dead Pets Unleashed in its Steam demo starting on November 5.
