Life is Strange tie-in novel will follow Steph

On Wednesday, the Life is Strange Twitter account announced that the series’ first-ever tie-in novel, subtitled Steph’s Story, will release on March 21, 2023. The book is from Titan Books and was written by Rosiee Thor.

Steph’s Story is a prequel to last year’s Life is Strange: True Colors, which should put it between that game and Life is Strange: Before the Storm. The book follows Steph and her bandmate/girlfriend Izzie on a tour that will eventually bring them to the setting of True Colors, the small, Colorado mountain town of Haven Springs.

Steph was first introduced to the Life is Strange universe in Before the Storm, where she became friends with Chloe by including her in a tabletop RPG campaign. Izzie actually hasn’t had much of an appearance in the series so far. She was briefly introduced in True Colors as Steph’s ex and is currently Life is Strange’s only transgender character. Despite the title, Steph’s Story will finally offer fans of the franchise a chance to get to know Izzie better.

The Wavelengths DLC for Life is Strange: True Colors that let us play as Steph already showed the fate of key characters from Arcadia Bay and how that impacted her, so now we’ll get to see the story of how she made her way to Haven Springs and closer to meeting Alex.

Though there was also a comic series that followed the events after the ending of the first game, Steph’s Story will be the first piece of completely prose fiction released for the series. Rosiee Thor, the author, is a Young Adult writer who’s other books include Tarnished Are The Stars, Fire Becomes Her, and The Meaning Of Pride.
