Get hype for The Last of Us: Part 2 with these YouTube fan films
On top of being critically acclaimed and winning dozens of accolades, The Last of Us is one of the best selling games of 2013 and 2014. Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment unleashed a new world to gaymers, who still replay and discuss the horror-survival action-adventure title six years later. I mean, I think it’s safe to say many of us have replayed as Joel and Ellie at least once or twice since we purchased The Last of Us.
Luckily, Naughty Dog is releasing The Last of Us: Part 2 on 29 May 2020. The game is going to take place five years after it’s predecessor, and fans are eager to see how the characters they love have adapted to their surroundings – infected, scavengers and all – and how the mythology of the world has changed. Has greater civilizations formed by this point and are there any new strains of the infected? We only have a month until these questions are answered!
With anticipation for The Last of Us: Part 2 starting to amount to peak levels, I have compiled a gaggle of fan films to hold you over with same-universe content until it’s time to boot up our consoles.
And in case you’re wondering what The Last of Us has to do with LGBT gayming, it was discovered in “Left Behind,” the 2014 DLC, that central character Ellie is a lesbian and she was in a relationship with a girl named Riley. Ellie’s sexuality is expected to be explored more in Part 2. A supporting character in the first game, Bill, is also an openly gay man.
