Gaming art gallery Occupy White Walls launches Kickstarter
Art galleries can be a little pretentious with their white walls and musty air. But what if galleries were virtual? If they were video games? If you could…occupy the white walls?
That’s the premise behind Occupy White Walls, a new game from developer StikiPixels currently raising funds on Kickstarter. Players can create their own virtual art galleries, share them online and explore each others artistic taste.
“With Occupy White Walls the team at StikiPixels wants to strip away with the boundaries between the public and the stuffy old art world with an intelligent, fun and boundary-free platform,” said StikiPixels CEO Yarden Yaroshevski
What’s most interesting is it’s powered by a first-of-its-kind A.I, allowing for a unique form of artist discovery. The A.I. (called DAISY) analyses your tastes to suggest new art you may like, treating all artists equally without discrimination.
So, not only can you fill your gallery with the most celebrated artworks from the past few centuries, you can promote the work of new independent artists who aren’t able to physically house their work in a gallery.
Occupy White Walls is currently available in Early Access on Steam, with the Kickstarter campaign aiming to develop the game further. Already graphically stunning, this innovative idea could be a great start for LGBT+ artists seeking a wider audience.
