Hocus Pocus to cast spell on board game enthusiasts

There’s a lot to love about Hocus Pocus, the 1993 cult classic from director Kenny Orega which stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. Although the horror-comedy following three witches who try to suck the souls out of children on Halloween night wasn’t very successful during its original run, it has since captivated numerous audiences thanks to television airings and DVD sales. The previous two Fall seasons have even been filled to the brim with new Hocus Pocus merchandise if you stopped by your local Spirit Halloween stores.

Rumblings of a sequel have come and gone across the internet ever since 2014, but it was officially announced last year that Hocus Pocus will receive a sequel in the form of a Disney+ exclusive movie. But before that happens, Ravensburger is giving us a tabletop experience with Hocus Pocus: The Game.

According to ComicBook.com, “Two to six players will work together to stop the Sanderson witches before they can create a wicked potion. The new game features delightful fantasy illustrations of the Sanderson sisters and other characters from the movie, a wooden Binx token, and spells, quotes, and potions pulled straight out of the movie.”

Hocus Pocus: The Game will be available for purchase August 2020 and is currently priced at $19.99.
