Fire Emblem’s Byleth joins Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Smash Bros Ultimate has had one of the most amazing lineups with characters like Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury and Joker from Persona 5. The inclusion of Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses is just the icing on the cake for us.

We cannot talk for the rest of the Smash community. But a quick check on social media does let us know that yet another Fire Emblem character was not a popular choice. Regardless, Byleth is coming to Smash this month and comes with a variety of different weapons and moves.

The newest hero will include four different Hero relics, powerful weapons that are important in Three Houses. Areadhbar, Dimitri’s lance, Amyr, Edelgard’s axe, Failnaught, Claude’s bow and the Sword of Creator. Making this another hero with a sword, yes.

There will also a new map: Garreg Mach. Broken up into four stages, you’ll be able to fight your way through the map and meet familiar faces along the way.

In the marketplace, you’ll see Dimitri, Dedue, Ingrid, and your favourite character, Gatekeeper. In the reception hall, you’ll be joined by Edelgard, Dorothea, and Petra. On the bridge, you’ll find yourself next to Claude, Lorenz, and Hilda, whilst in the cathedral, you’ll be smacking enemies around in the company of Rhea, Flayn and Seteth.

You’ll also be able to switch between male and female Byleth, as well as put them in different costumes like Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude’s house uniform.

Excited? You don’t have to wait long before you can grab Byleth for yourself on January 28th, 2020.
