PAX South 2020 celebrates diversity with PAX Together
For those of us who haven’t been to PAX before, we believe that PAX South 2020 may just be the best time ever to go. Along with PAX celebrating gaming culture, from your favourite AAA titles to tabletop games, this year it will celebrate diversity through a little something called PAX Together.
They’ll be hosting a variety of different initiatives celebrating the Latinx community, such as having the Latinx Lounge, hosted by Latinx in Gaming, a group dedicated to increasing Latinx representation. Through the Latinx Lounge, there will be up to 3 days of panels – with some being in Spanish – workshops, tournaments, networking, and up to 8 showcased, international games.
Latinx developers included at the show are Mecha Studio, Navengante, Broadstrokes, Seashell Studio, the Stonebot Studio, HyperBeard Games, and Streamline Games. Studios such as BioWare, Microsoft, Gearbox Publishing, Ready at Dawn and more will also cover personal and professional topics related to the Latinx community.
As for PAX Together, which is supported by Houston Gaymers and Red Bull, it will offer up space for advocacy groups and marginalized developers to show off their games to attendees and stand out from the crowd. The developers featured on the show floor include Kitfox Games, Rose City Games, Strange Scaffold, and more.
PAX South will take place on January 17th and end on January 19th, 2020. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, we recommend you go buy them, ASAP!
