Ugly but kinda cool Hori Split Pad Pro Switch controller is now available to pre-order

Have you ever wanted something that looks horrendous, but could prevent you from breaking every single Joy-Con you have available? Well, the Hori Split Pad Pro Switch controller may just be the thing for you. Even if it does looks a little ugly.

Our attention was brought to this controller thanks to Eurogamer, and since then, we’ve not really known peace. After all, it looks more like a piece of exercise equipment for the Switch, rather than a fancy-looking, somewhat chunky, Joy-Con.

But despite how it looks, we do understand the appeal of what this controller has on offer. It may be wide, but for those gamers out there who like to go ham when it comes to action games, this controller is sturdy enough to withstand your heavy-handedness.

Chunky, but good

But as our parents always taught us, looks aren’t everything. The new Hori Split Pad Pro Switch controller has been designed in a way where these Joy-Cons feel like a controller, despite being split in two.

There are additional buttons included on the controller, such as rear buttons, which are completely programmable. There is also a turbo button, as well as two assign buttons.

You may be wondering ‘why so many buttons?’ Well, this controller was designed in a way that implemented the branding and design of DAEMON x MACHINA, a recently released game where players fight evil in towering mechs. With this in mind, if you were thinking of getting the game, it’d be almost like fate for you to consider pre-ordering this controller too.

This looks like a piece of tech that all Nintendo fans may want, so thankfully you don’t have to wait long to get it.

The Hori Split Pad Pro Switch controller will officially be releasing on the 30th of September, pre-order it now on Amazon.
