Gayming Manual Cosplay Corner Terms & Conditions
Gayming Manual features a reader Cosplay Corner in each issue, spotlighting cosplay photos submitted by our readers. By submitting a photo through our submission form, you agree to the following terms.
1. Who can submit
1.1 You must be 18 years of age or older to submit a photo. By submitting, you confirm that you are 18 or over.
1.2 If we have reason to believe a submission was made by, or shows, someone under 18, we will not publish it, and will remove it if it has already been submitted.
2. What you can submit
• A photo of yourself in cosplay that you’d like to share with readers.
• Photos must feature only you — please don’t submit group photos or photos where any other person is identifiable. This keeps submissions simple and means we don’t need to collect permission from anyone but you.
• Photos must be appropriate for a general audience: no nudity or sexually explicit content, and nothing that promotes hate, harassment, or illegal activity. We may decline any submission that doesn’t fit the tone of the magazine, for any reason and without needing to give one.
3. Photo ownership & permission
3.1 You confirm that you either took the photo yourself, or have permission from whoever did (e.g. a friend or photographer) to submit it to us and have it published.
3.2 If someone else took the photo, please credit them on the submission form (name/handle) so we can credit them alongside your feature, where practical.
4. Rights you’re giving us
4.1 By submitting a photo, you grant Gayming Manual (Parrlime Productions Ltd) a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to reproduce, edit, and publish the photo:
• in Gayming Manual, in print; and
• for promotional and marketing purposes connected with Gayming Manual, including social media, our website, and other advertising materials.
4.2 This licence is non-exclusive — you keep all rights to your own photo, and you’re free to keep sharing it yourself elsewhere.
5. Credit
5.1 We’ll credit you using the name or handle (e.g. an Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter/X handle) you provide on the submission form. Please double-check it’s the name/handle you want printed and shared publicly, as we’ll use exactly what you give us.
6. No payment
6.1 Submissions to the Cosplay Showcase are unpaid. By submitting, you agree that you won’t be paid a fee, royalty, or other compensation for your photo appearing in Gayming Manual or its promotional material.
7. Editorial discretion
7.1 We may crop, resize, or lightly edit your photo for layout purposes, and we choose which submissions are featured and in which issue. Submitting a photo doesn’t guarantee it will be published.
8. Asking us to take it down
8.1 If you change your mind after submitting, contact us at gayming@parrlime.com and we’ll remove your photo from future use (including from our website and social media) as soon as reasonably possible. We can’t recall physical copies of the zine that have already been printed and distributed.
9. Costumes & characters
9.1 Cosplay often depicts characters owned by other people or companies. We don’t claim any ownership over the characters, franchises, or costume designs shown in submitted photos, and inclusion in Gayming Manual doesn’t imply endorsement by those rights holders. If a rights holder asks us to remove a photo, we will do so.
10. Your data
10.1 We collect the information you provide on the submission form (e.g. name/handle, email address, age confirmation, and your photo) via Google Forms, in order to review, credit, and publish submissions.
10.2 We’ll keep this information for as long as we might feature your photo, plus a reasonable period afterwards for our records, and won’t share it with anyone outside the Gayming Manual editorial team except where needed to publish your feature (e.g. our printer).
10.3 You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw consent for future use, at any time by contacting gayming@parrlime.com. This section is a plain-language summary for the Cosplay Showcase and doesn’t replace a full privacy policy, should Gayming Manual need one for the wider website/shop.
11. Agreement
11.1 By submitting the form, you confirm that you’ve read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
