Tell Me Why is free to play on all platforms

Tell Me Why, an episodic game that follows two twins and their dark past, is now free to play on all platforms. And by all platforms, we of course mean just Xbox and PC.

DontNod excited all when they announced Tell Me Why – an adventure game focusing on Alyson and Tyler Ronan and their return to their hometown of Delos Crossing. Not only would we have two overlapping protagonists, but one of them, Tyler, would be an openly trans man – and even voiced by a trans actor, August Aiden Black. This would be a first for a triple-A game.

Tell Me Why was well-received by critics, scoring 5/5 from GamesRadar and earning our own recommendation when the fabulous Leon Killin reviewed it. To put it bluntly: it’s a game that is dear to a lot of players, and it’s not hard to see why.

But what is Tell Me Why about? A blurb from the official website summarises:

Tell Me Why is the latest narrative adventure from DONTNOD Entertainment, the studio behind the beloved franchise Life is Strange. In this intimate mystery, reunited twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan use their special bond to unravel the memories of their loving but troubled childhood.

Set in the fictional town of Delos Crossing, Alaska, Tell Me Why features a cast of intriguing, true-to-life characters and mature themes. As you interact with memories of the past, you will make choices that determine the strength of the unique bond that Tyler and Alyson share—and shape the future course of the twins’ lives.

If you’ve yet to try out the first episode of Tell Me Why, then you can grab it for free on both Steam and Xbox.
